Bye for now
Back by popular demand as the last pattern went walking…this is the perfect skirt for any size. Everyone of my students who have made this skirt absolutely love it.
ABSOLUTE BEGINNER PROJECT
Im so sorry I do not have any pictures of this skirt!
It is A-Line, so is extremely flattering. It has a couple of darts in the back. This skirt is best made in a cotton fabric and then lined in a cotton fabric as well. It is secured with a button and a hook and eye.
Available to make in a Size 10, 12, 14 & 16 if you need smaller or bigger we can easily make it.
Size 10, 12 & 14
1 button & 1 hook & eye
Finished Length is 46cm (above knee). If you want to add length so it comes to the knee, add an extra 30cm of fabric and 30cm of lining.
1 button and 1 hook & eye
Finished Length is 55.5cm (to the knee). If you want to add length so it comes to mid calf, add an extra 50cm of fabric and 50cm of lining.
Due to the popularity of the girls Peplum Top I have made an adults one too!
This is a loose fitting type of top, you can go down a size if you like, however as stretchy fabrics are not recommended it means you may need to squish yourself like a sardine to get it on!
Sizes Small, Medium and Large you will need 1.2m of fabric. If you would like it longer, just add extra fabric, at least an extra 40cm should be fine.
You will also need some bias binding to trim the edges or alternatively you can cut some facings from your left over fabric.
This top is so very cute and so very fashionable at the moment!
For the BEGINNER SEWER, this top includes attaching bias binding and gathering skills.
Size 2, 3, 4 & 6 50cm
Size 8 60cm
Size 10 80cm
You will also need some bias binding 12mm wide, you can find it in a packet of 5m. Also think about what you would like to tie the shoulder with, I use bias binding folded and sewn in half. You can close the shoulder up if you prefer.
I made this skirt a few months ago now. The Twirly Skirt is made up of 8 panels…4 for the top skirt and 4 for the under skirt. I used a fine cord for the top skirt and my scraps were used for the underskirt. You can use whatever fabrics you have for this skirt…choose just two if you wish.
You will also need fabric to make the ruffle, 40cm should be plenty otherwise use your scraps and piece them together if necessary. Also not forgetting some elastic…I used 12mm wide elastic.
I found an iron on badge I had bought from Etsy, although I always sew them on. A scrap of ribbon was laying around so that was sewn in too!
Here are the fabric requirements!
